The Boiler Engineers Competency Examination is held twice a year in March/April and September/October. Applications on the prescribed Form (A-1) are available from the Department Main Office on the payment of Rs.20/- (in person) and by money order of Rs.40. Registrations open in the months of June and December every year.

Age should not be less than 21 years at the time of submission of application
Eligibility
First Class
- Second Class Certificate of Competency
Second Class
- Third Class Certificate of Competency
- Minimum Qualification = Matric
OR
- Mechanical Engineering Degree from any recognized University or College of Engineering and one year practical experience on the operation of Boilers.
Third Class
- Six years service on the operation of Boilers
- Minimum Qualification = Middle
OR
- Three years diploma in Mechanical Engineering from any Government College of Technology or Polytechnic Institute and two years practical experience on the operation of boilers.
Note: The foreign degrees in Mechanical Engineering and memberships of Engineering Institutes are considered after recognition by the Pakistan Engineering Council, Islamabad.
